Well it's official, I am finally moving! I have been waiting to move forever and now it's finally happening. I am so excited to get into our new house and make it our own. Just as exciting, is that I will be able to move my office into my house. No more commuting 40 minutes and arriving 40 minutes early before appointments. No more lugging around heavy books and my computer. No more packed cold lunches. And hello tea whenever I like! Fresh, unlimited tea is really the most important part of this.
I am the type of person who does things last minute, actually I thrive on being last minute. It is like a crazy motivating high for me. Combine that with the excitement of moving and it causes a little bit of internal conflict. It's not me to pack early, that's just crazy talk. I prefer to do almost all my packing in one or two days before I move.
I made a mistake. I started listening to people around me. They kept telling me you should be packing right now. It will be stressful packing right before hand. Get it done early so you don't have to worry about it. I kind of sort of listened. BIG MISTAKE!! I now live in a big mess. I am struggling to live and work between boxes. This is insanely more stressful than just doing it all in two days. I even knew this while I was packing that it was a mistake. It is almost impossible for me to be productive and creative in such a messy environment.
I have learned my lesson. I know best. I need to stick to that and do what feels natural and what feels best. Packing early may work for others, it just does not work for me.
Side note, did you noticed how I announced I will be moving my office??? That's right! Hopefully by October 25th, I will be all settled and ready to take clients in my new space. Until then, I will be still working out of the Bessborough Hotel. The countdown is on!
